Burlingame United Methodist Church is honored to share our beautiful building with wonderful organizations that make a difference in our community. Here are insights on the groups that share our space:
Peninsula Girls Chorus
Founded in January 1994 and operating from the BUMC since 2000, the Peninsula Girls Chorus (PGC) continues to reach singers across the San Francisco Peninsula with our award-winning program. PGC serves 200 girls, ages 6-18, in six different chorus levels. Singers receive top-notch musical training, joyful music-making, artistic expression, and the chance to make new friends who share a common interest. In addition to musical skills, our girls learn about responsibility, perseverance, leadership and teamwork through through our work.
In addition to two major concerts each year, PGC performs throughout the community at retirement centers, company galas, holiday parties, tree lightings, and professional and collegiate sporting events. We have collaborated with Ragazzi Boys Chorus, Bay Bells, Redwood Symphony and the Stanford Summer Chorus. Our most experienced singers participate in a choir tour every other year, alternating between domestic tours and travel abroad. Past tours have included: New Orleans, Eastern Europe, Denver, Italy, Washington D. C., New York City, Canterbury and London and Sydney, Australia. The choir will be touring to Spain in the summer of 2023.

CALL Primrose
Call Primrose provides free groceries to low-income individuals and families along the mid-peninsula cities of Brisbane through San Carlos. In 2021, CALL provided direct support to roughly 77,000 individuals, distributing 96,000 bags of groceries. Founded in 1983 as an information and referral service Hotline, CALL Primrose became a drop-in food distribution site in early 1984, as grocery assistance quickly surfaced as the primary need of those seeking support. Since then, CALL has provided emergency food, and referral services to thousands of our community’s most vulnerable. We continue to see a rise in the number of those in need coming to our Center for grocery assistance as the ever-increasing housing costs in our area have forced many low-income families to choose between paying rent and buying groceries. Through weekly grocery assistance from CALL, many low-income families are able to hold on to their housing without the burden of wondering how to feed themselves and their families.
We are committed to expanding our outreach through local schools, churches, health providers, caseworkers and other individuals/organizations who are in contact with those most vulnerable, to reach as many in need as possible with our services. Anyone in need of grocery support is welcome, and all services are free and confidential.

Parents play an active role in all aspects of school administration, maintenance, and growth. Parents serve as elected officers, comprising the Executive Board that governs the school.
